HRP Is Up and 3-D Printing Parts!

Yesterday the Markforged techs came to the shop to set up the X-7 and get us up to speed with this new technology. Most of the afternoon was spent learning the software and capabilities of this new industrial grade 3-D printer. Once that was done, Matt and I did a little experiment. We took the CAD drawing that we already had of our P/F axle block covers, added a customers name to the drawing, sent it to the X-7, hit print and went home for the night. This morning when we opened, there on the printer table was two perfect axle block covers. We removed them from the printer and walked over to Mike Blair's new P/F bike and bolted them on. It was that easy! Now we will start printing many of our formally machined products for this industry and others. This technology, along with several others yet to be announced, is going to move the bar up a notch or two in our sport. JV
