HRP To Push the Envelope in Our Nitro Harley Clutch Program:

I tend to look into areas of our sport that may not have been recently studied for the possibility of improving what we and other racers are currently running. One of these areas that has been on my mind for years is our slipper clutch equipment. As far as I know, no one in our sport has really done any reliable testing to see if we can improve in this area. We have all gotten to this state by "trial & error". What we have works, but how well? We just don't know.

A little over a year ago, I purchased a Top Fuel Clutch Dyno that was orginally built for Don "The Snake" Prudhomme. This is quite an impressive piece of machinery. Not knowing anything about it, it has been a challenge to get it up and running, but we are there. I have only a few more pieces to machine to adapt our 6" & 7" clutches to the Dyno and then we can make pulls using a Racepak to record all the data, make changes and pull again. In this way we can verify the results of modifications made to the clutch assembly and hopefully improve our performance as a result. It will be interesting to say the least. With our CNC capabilties, our Heat Treating capabilties and now our Clutch Dyno all in house, I expect good results. JVClutch Dyno (5)TF Clutch Dyno (1)
